This trip will commence with a guided tour of the Sarrat Park, a hidden gem in central Dax and heavily disguised by surrounding housing. Don’t let this fool you! The Sarrat Park covers more than 3 hectares over which more than 450 plant species have been counted. You will discover a magnificent alley of magnolias with large flowers bordering the body of water, but also many other species of trees, including: • the Erable Cappadocia, • China’s Loropeta, • bald cypress. There is also an alley of Magnolias, rare tree species, together with a wealth of biodiversity. There is a natural conservatory helping to protect rare species all included in a garden designed between the classic French style and the landscaped style. All this and more including a rare, protected pink flowered garlic, only found in les Landes.
After discovering the garden we will be going to Lac De Christus at Saint Paul les Dax, a short drive away for a gourmet lunch at La Maison du Lac. This pleasantly located lakeside restaurant, can offer us the menu Du jour at 15.00€ ( Wine and coffee extra)and there will be a choice of a meat or fish option.
Due to the popularity of the restaurant and arrangements for tour guides please ‘click to register’ below, with your menu option by the end of the day on 19th May. I will give more precise details shortly afterwards.
The cost of the guided tour is 3€ a person.
Hoping we all have a very pleasant day!
