Membership Renewals 2020-2021

It’s that time of year again. It’s time to renew your membership of the club for 2020-2021.

We all know what a difficult year this has been, and of course, the club has been unable to arrange many planned visits, outings and social gatherings. You will have seen that some of the activities have continued, notably walks and ladies lunches, and of course our regular apero evenings. The weekly newsletter, produced by John Roberts, we have been told by many of you, has been a real benefit, keeping us all informed very quickly and efficiently of changes announced regarding Covid19 and other news items.

You will be hearing directly from the Membership Secretary, Ann Broekhoven, regarding renewal. We hope you will be rejoining as we sincerely intend to be arranging more activities when allowed, but meanwhile the costs of running the club remain. We have our insurance, bank charges and website costs to cover even though we haven’t been able to offer you a full club diary this year, we hope we can count on your support.

We urge all members to pay subscriptions by virement. This is very quick and easy to set up via your bank. Especially in the current circumstances, our Treasurer, Mel Sladdin, does not wish to handle cash or be personally collecting cheques. Full details will be on your membership renewal notice.

Annual General Meeting

The committee have decided not to hold our AGM this year. This has been approved by the Mairie. We will of course close our accounts as usual, and once audited, they will be available for inspection by the members. As stated membership renewal will continue as normal.

This does mean we will not be able to appoint any new Committee Members, but we are seeking one person, so if you would like to join us, just speak to any current Committee Member. We can co-opt someone to join us, until a future date for the AGM is decided.
